What is a Hub?
A hub is a common connection point for different devices in a network. Hubs are commonly used to connect the segments of a Local area Network. A simple hub comprises multiple ports. When a data or a command arrives at one port, it is copied to all the other ports connected so that all the segments of the Local Area Network can see all the data.
Passive Hub:-
A passive hub simply enables the data to go from one device (or segment) to another
Intelligent Hub:-
This Hub includes additional features that enables an administrator to monitor the traffic passing from the hub and can configure each port or hub.
These kind of hubs are also called manageable hubs.
Switching Hub:-
This is the third type of hub which reads the destination of a packet or data and sends the packet or data to the right port or hub.
